Description

Circa 18th century, portrait of a gentleman. The oil on canvas has a moulded, ebonised frame with gold slip, depicting a portrait of a gentleman in fine clothing. There are some restored areas around the hands of the sitter, with a trade label to the back: ‘Mavis Morgan Restorer in Fine Art – 6 South View, Whinney Leas, Chopwell, Newcastle Upon Tyne… 1974’.
