Description

A gorgeous, sunny landscape of the South of France. Under a clear blue sky, olive trees are lining a road which leads to a village nestled in the hills. The hills, presenting themselves almost like an abstract tapestry, are dappled with tender green fields (for it is spring) white-washed farm houses, and pink and purple earth.

French in origin, this evocative and expertly painted oil on canvas is signed and dated (19)53 at the lower left. I have not been able to decipher the signature, or the inscriptions on the back of the stretcher.

Measuring, 46 x 61 cm the artwork is presented in its original 1940s wooden frame. The overall framed size is 59 x 74 cm

Alternatively, I might be able to offer it to you in a more contemporary frame, if this were more suited to your interior. Please inquire.
