Description

This is a fabulous Indian painting in gouache and ink of Svayambhuva in his ark with sailors attendants and animals. This is very finely painted in vibrant gouache colours and dates from the late 19th Century. There really is so much to see in this depiction of the saving of the the people and animals of the earth from a great flood by Svayambhuva Manu. The painting illustrates all manner of animals upon the ark with dolphins and crocodiles in the ocean around it.

The picture is in excellent condition and measures 35 cms by 23 cms overall, including the frame.
