Fine Small Regency Oil Portrait of a Gentleman

A fine oil on panel portrait of a Regency gentleman. The painting is of a fine quality and is in good untouched condition, though it has been professionally cleaned. The work has been done on a Rowney and Forster Flemish panel and indicates a quality professional artist's hand. The sitter is likely to be a nobleman as some information is given on the reverse though it is difficult to decipher. The painting is mounted in a slightly later period gilt frame which works very well with it. The whole has a great period look, is in excellent condition, and is ready to hang. C.1820.
