Set Of Four Victorian Watercolours By Joseph Halford Ross

A set of four Victorian watercolours by Joseph Halford Ross in original gilt frames. A really interesting group of watercolours that have obviously always been together, two show spring scenes with bluebells flowering in woodlands and two show highland scenes. The set are all in good condition and each one is signed. Joseph Halford Ross was born in 1866 in Ross, Scotland, he trained in Wolverhampton, Leicester, London and eventually settled in Nottingham. He exhibited between 1892-1909 in Nottingham, he was also an art teacher. The works are all framed in the original gilt frames which are in good condition with all original gilding, there has been some slight varnish put on them to protect them. The mounts are also original and the paintings have never been out of the frames. The set make a great decorative impact and are ready to hang. C.1900.
