Antique Indian Gouache Painting Figures on a Terrace 19th Century

Description

This is a wonderful antique painting dating from around 1890. The painting is in strong gouache colours heightened in gilt and shows courtly figures upon a terrace being serenaded in the moonlight. To the reverse of the painting is a page of calligraphic script and this is also glazed. The painting is in excellent condition and is in a narrow gilt frame with ivory mount. It measures 26 cms by 20 cms.
