A fine and decorative pair of watercolour still life paintings of fruit by Arthur Dudley. Each painting has a large and varied selection of the most wonderful fruit including cherries, melons, oranges and apples, centred around a bottle in one and a ceramic jar in the other. The paintings are typical of the artist''s work with bold brush strokes and rich colours. The pair are both in excellent condition with no fading. Each work is signed to the lower right ''A Dudley'' and dated 1900. Arthur Dudley Exhibited between 1890 and 1907 and I would think it is very likely these were exhibited. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of British Artists as well as in Liverpool and the Royal Watercolour Society.
