1960's Abstract Painting by Doctor Irene Amos

A very well painted, abstract oil by the well known artist, Doctor Irene Amos. In excellent codnition and mounted in the period frame. Signed by the Australian artist who went on to inspire many artists throughout her career. Dr. Irene Amos OAM was an accomplished, award-winning Australian Abstract Expressionist. Having trained at Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, she won the Godfrey Rivers Memorial Medal for excellence in the applied arts. A member of the Royal Queensland Art Society and Jacaranda Art Society, Amos held numerous successful exhibitions nationwide, and alongside contemporaries Margo Lewers, John Firth-Smith & Elizabeth Cummings to name a few. Her works are represented in several important National collections, including the Queensland Art Gallery.
