William Greaves "Cley Next the Sea" Oil Painting

1900 - 1920
Description

William Greaves (1852-1938) was born in Leeds and studied at Sheffield College of Art. He travelled and exhibited widely at galleries including the Royal Academy, Royal Cambrian Academy, Manchester and Liverpool. He worked mostly in oils and his subjects include landscapes in and around Wharfedale in Yorkshire and Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire. "Cley next the Sea" is an attractive little painting by William Greaves measuring 9"x 12". It is framed in a good hand made gilt frame giving an overall size of 14"x 17". On the back is a nice old label for the "Tib Lane Gallery, Manchester" with title and artist's details.
