Frederick W. Jackson "Hayfield at Ellerby" Oil Painting

1900 - 1920
Description

Frederick William Jackson was a landscape and marine painter, born in Oldham. He studied at the Manchester Academy and worked primarily at Hinderwell in Yorkshire. He also travelled to France where he studied under Lefebre and Boulanger in Paris. Jackson exhibited from 1880 at the Royal academy including "Gossip", "The Haven under the Hill" and "Sunny Days". His works are held in good private collections and Public Galleries including the Bradford Art Gallery and Manchester City Art Gallery. "Hayfield at Ellerby" is an oil painting on board measuring 8"x 10". It is signed lower left with a monogram and has the title and date 1912 inscribed on the back in the artist's hand. It is framed in a gilt frame giving an overall size of 14"x 16".
