Antoni Kierpal, Portrait of a Fisherman

1920 - 1940
Description

A bright impressionistic portrait of a fisherman by Polish artist, Antoni Kierpal (1898-1960). The oils are layered on thickly creating texture throughout and the boats are simply a few quick brush-marks.

Kierpal enjoyed painting coastal scenes and some of his work is held in the National Museum of Szczecin, Poland.

Size including frame: 15” x 19” / 39cm x 49cm

Year of creation: c. 1940

Provenance: England

Condition: Artwork in good condition with no issues. Frame with age-related wear and a few losses.
