Cubist Nude Grooming, French Art Deco Modernist Burin Etched Antique Drawing on Panel

Description

A stunning cubist nude, executed in the most extraordinary technique: rather than using a pen, the artist used a burin to etch the drawing into the panel. An original antique, the artwork dates from the 1920s - how modern and timeless it it for something that is a hundred years old!

Of superb quality, this one of a kind artwork - unlike an "engraving" this is not a multiple - is unsigned. While it is annotated "A Lhote" on the back of the panel, I am not certain of attribution. The panel size is 21 x 15 cm, while the overall size in a heavy frame of blackened wood is 34 x 20 cm.
