A charming and interesting oil on panel landscape scene by Edward S. Lowe (Fl. 1893-1928). The scene shows a tidal river or estuary which is seen over a brick wall. The technique is very impressionistic with broad brushstrokes of paint. The painting is signed to the lower right but not dated. The painting retains the original oak frame with gilded moulding. The whole is in good untouched condition and the painting is ready to hang. There is little information about Edward S. Lowe he did exhibited widely including the Royal Academy and his addresses vary from Essex to Dublin.
