Oil Painting of a Horse by D.gage

A fine oil on canvas painting of a horse. The horse is shown in typical landscape setting, and is painted in great detail with a nice soft technique. The painting is signed and dated D.Gage 1915, I can find no record of the artist but it is most likely he was a specialist animal painter who travelled around painting livestock for wealthy patrons. The painting is in good untouched condition and is mounted in a vintage period painted frame that works very well with the artwork. The whole is in ready to hang condition.
