Description

This is very charming Victorian oil on canvas painting of ducks and ducklings at the waters edge which dates from around 1850. The painting is very well executed and is set within its original deep plain gilt frame which suits it well and bears the name plaque 'J.F. Herring'. John Frederick Herring (1820 - 1907) was known for painting equine and country scenes.

The painting is in excellent order and is a nice size, measuring 57 cms by 57 cms overall including the frame.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
