19th Century Dutch Oil on Copper Girl with Peach

Description

This is a beautiful portrait painting of a young girl eating a peach which dates from the mid 19th century. The oil painting, probably Dutch, is beautifully painted on copper and is in very rich warm colours. There is a minor scratch (best seen in picture 4) but it really does not detract from the beauty of the painting. The quality of the work is really quite fine and the piece has a delightful antique appearance.

It is set within a very attractive gilded frame with rounded corners and is papered to the reverse with marbled paper.

It measures 26 cms by 21 cms including the frame.
