A very interesting and decorative pair of oils on canvas of a tropical Far East location. The pair both show tropical scenes with water and the most colourful vegetation, around villages. There is no indication exactly where the paintings are sadly but both are signed to the lower left and I believe they are an Asian artist but working in the European style. The paintings are technically very good and in the Impressionist manner with a bold use of colour and broad brushstrokes. The pair have both been professionally cleaned and are in excellent condition. The works retain the original gilt frames which are in excellent untouched condition. The pair are interesting and extremely decorative works with a great impact. C.1930.
