Jacques Madyol, Fireside, Interior Scene, 1914

1900 - 1920
Description

A small impressionistic scene depicting a couple sat by a fire with a black and white cat. The artist, Jacques Madyol (1874-1950), studied at the Brussels Academy of Fine Arts and was well-known for his portraiture.

Two of his portraits, of King Albert I and Queen Elizabeth, are currently in the collection at the Musee de l’Armee in Belgium.

Medium: Oil on wood

Size including frame: 13” x 12” / 33cm x 31cm

Year of creation: 1914

Provenance: Belgium

Condition: Artwork in excellent condition. Frame with some light age-related wear.
