Rowland Henry Hill Born 1873.Landscape and figure painter in oil and watercolour.Born in Halifax he studied at Halifax and Bradford School of Art and Herkomer School Bushey.Exhibited at the RA(21 works) from 1897,in the provinces and the Paris Salon.Lived at Hinderwell near Staithes.Hill was a leading member of the Staithes School of Artists.’ A Farmer and his Dog herding Cattle ‘ signed watercolour dated 1914;image size 33x45cms,framed size 55x66cmsHoused in a silvered wood frame.A very good example of the artist’s work.
