Artist and signature: Signed indistinctly in the lower right hand corner, Leonard Squirrell
Our painting is signed indistinctly "Leonard Squirell" (Although this has been known). We have no provenance other than a note verso stating that the painting was gifted by Sir Ron Cooke in 2003 (Who we understand he was Vice-Chancellor of the University of York from 1993 to 2002) and as such the painting should be taken as "Attributed" (via the mount attribution and faint signature) and we can not be certain that this is "By" the artist. Further investigation would benefit this watercolour.

Approximate age of artwork: Circa Early 20th Century.
