A lovely and luminous summer landscape, with a big sky and a group of village women - perfectly rendered - on a path.

An oil or mixed media on board, the painting is situated "Skane" and dedicated in Swedish on the verso, and was clearly given as a Christmas gift ("God Jul") in 1938. The artwork is monogrammed GP- at the lower right, but I have not been able to identify the artist.

The painting was acquired in Rouen/Normandy during a recent excursion, and it is likely that the artist had a connection with France.

Measuring 38 x 46 cm, the overall framed size in its original frame is 47 x 56 cm.
