Mysterious Impressionist Mountain Landscape, Circa 1890, Antique French or Swiss Miniature Oil on Panel

This is a mysterious little gem. Signed at the lower left, the letters are so tiny that have not been able to identify the signature.

An oil on board painted in an impressionist style with loose brushwork, it is certainly a plein air study. A miniature painting, it is big on atmosphere.

Almost certainly French or Swiss in origin, it depicts a mountain range under a sky of cumulus clouds. Although well over a hundred years old, it has an almost abstract quality to it.

Painted circa 1890 - I seem to be able to make out the date "91" - the painting measures 9 x 16 cm. Presented a good quality modern frame, the overall size is 23.5 x 31 cm.
