1940s Portrait Study of a Woman in a Red Top

Description

A striking portrait study of a seated woman wearing a red top, brown skirt and black belt. We acquired this along with a similar portrait of a lady in blue, so it’s possible that they once formed part of an academic portfolio of works.

We particularly love the unfinished look to this piece with the arms being quickly sketched in to give the figure its form.

Size: 30” x 25” / 76cm x 60.5cm

Provenance: London

Condition: A few scuffs and scratches including an area towards the top right.
