Fine Pair of Victorian Oil Paintings of the Isle of Wight

A fine pair of oil paintings on canvas depicting scenes of the Isle of Wight. The pair both show similar views with cottages and figures in landscapes. The pair are both signed and dated 1885, the signature is unfortunately illegible. The quality of the work speaks for itself and I am sure the artist would be a well recorded and exhibited one. The pair are also titled on the reverse this is also some what faded and all that can be discerned is 'Isle of Wight'. The pair are in good condition, they have been professionally cleaned, both do have a craquelure typical of works of the period. The pair also retain the original gilt frames which are in good country house condition and they have some repair. The pair make a dramatic impact and have a wonderful faded country house look.
