A fine oil on tin depicting a lady in elaborate Renaissance period dress. The painting is most likely continental and the figure has a feeling of being perhaps Spanish. The work is technically very competent and the detail exquisite but it is not signed. The painting has been professionally cleaned and some minor flaking touched in. The frame is a period English gilt frame and it is in very good untouched condition. The whole has a great decorative look and would work well with a variety of interior schemes. C.1850.
