Mysterious Landscape in Evening Light Dedicated to Monet, Circa 1900, Antique French Miniature Oil on Panel

Description

This is a mysterious little gem. A miniature painting, it is decidedly big on atmosphere. A deceptively simple landscape study of greenery and pink clouds in a evening sky, there is something quite wild and majestic to it. This may seem odd, but the painting reminds me almost of the Jungle landscapes by Le Douanier Rousseau!

I have not been able to identify the signature, which is preceded, most interestingly, by a dedication - to Monet!

Painted circa 1900-1910, this oil on board - or possibly, oil on canvas mounted on board - measures 7.8 x 19 cm. The overall framed size is 17.5 x 28.5 cm.
