Devon Oil Painting By Edwin Burleigh Younger

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Prometheus Antiques

Oil on artist’s board of the ruins of Okehampton Castle in Devon by Edwin Burleigh Younger. A very interesting oil worked to give the feel of soft light on the ruins. The painting is signed to the lower right, Edwin Burleigh Younger a little known artist but who did exhibit at the Royal Academy in 1899. The painting is mounted in the fine original gilt frame in great untouched condition. The title and date of 1913 is inscribed on the reverse. The whole is a lovely example of Edwardian landscape painting.
