Description

A beautiful art deco period view of the Ile of Capri by Max Usadel (c. 1880-1950).

German-born Usadel studied in Paris and subsequently lived in Italy and Switzerland, where the majority of his paintings can be found. He specialised in orientalist scenes and landscape. he is especially renowned for his views if Capri, an island he seemed to have loved particularly, and where he spent periods of time.

Our gouache on paper dates from the 1920s and measures 23 x 30 cm. It is presented in its original frame from Lugano. The overall framed size is 30 x 37 cm.
