A warm and tranquil summer landscape depicting a country woman walking along a path. Although she is just a silhouette from afar, upon closer inspection, you'll notice she is carrying a basket under her arm.

Painted in the first or second decade of the 20th century, or painting shows interesting elements of modernism, such as the tree in the foreground, which is almost stylised in an art deco manner. Of great quality, this mysterious painting is unsigned, with no clue as to who painted it.

Measuring 61 x 50 cm, there is little rippling to the canvas around the corners, and some consolidation on the lower edge of the canvas. With its original art deco frame, the overall size is 71 x 60 cm.
