The canvas is housed within a beautiful 19th-century gilt frame with foliate decoration.

Size including frame: 24” x 20½” / 61cm x 52cm x 5cm
Year of creation: c. 1850
Condition: Craquelure throughout but the paint layer is stable under varnish. Canvas slightly undulant. One small area of possible paint loss in the upper left quadrant. Two canvases have been joined together and hence the line towards the bottom. A UV examination reveals areas of retouching including within the hair. Frame in very good condition.
