Gents 9ct gold wrist watch, 1926.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. Although originally designed to be worn by a man, it is on the smaller side by today's standards so would suit a slimmer wrist, or it would work as a lady's watch.

The case is 9 carat rose gold and it is hallmarked inside the hinged case back for London 1926, with an importer's mark for George Stockwell. From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items, which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.

Overall the case is in lovely condition for a piece from the 1920s, there is the odd very minor indentation but nothing too detrimental at all.

The lens has a couple of minor marks but not immediately noticeable to the naked eye.

The dial is in its original textured finish. It has darkened a little over the years but is in good condition. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
