Set of 4 Hunting Engravings in Birds Eye Maple Frames

1900 - 1920
Description

Good decorative set of four hunting scene engravings, set within their original and very lovely birds eye maple frames.

They are in good original condition, original glass and they don't look to have been out of the frames at any point. This does mean that they have a very authentic look to the within the glass which you could say is grubby, but I rather like that! If you would like them cleaned, let me know and happy to do so. There is some foxing to the pictures themselves which won't come out, but not a concern when they are hung.

The engravings are by RG Reeve and originally done by Henry Alken, consisting of Getting Away, The Full Cry, Drawing the Cover and finally The Death.

Each picture measures:

24” or 61cm high

28 1/4” or 72cm wide

Delivery to most England, Wales and Scotland addresses at £55 +vat, but please send me your postcode if you are a bit remote or coastal as it could be more...or you are very welcome to collect from me in Uppingham, Rutland

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
