1900 - 1920
Description

An early 20th-century portrait of a young Italian gentleman wearing a stylish loose-fitting ‘sack suit’. In around 1910, when this portrait was created, gentleman often wore long baggy suit jackets with broad lapels. These could be either single or double-breasted, with the latter being the right choice for a slender figure.

Moustaches were also all the rage.

Medium: Oil on canvas

Size including frame: 17¼” x 13¼” / 44cm x 34cm x 3cm

Year of creation: c. 1910

Condition: In reasonable condition aside from some paint losses in the bottom left. Frame with various scuffs and losses.
