A stunning oil on canvas scene which shows a figure on a typically Italian terrace by the sea. The painting is a masterclass on capturing light and shade, it is worked in thick impasto paint to show broad slivers of light and the effect of plaster work. The painting has been professionally cleaned and is in excellent condition. It is mounted in the original painted and gilt frame which is typically Italian. There is a signature to the lower right though it remains sadly illegible to me. The whole is in great original condition and is a fantastic example of Italian art of the period.
