Description

A atmospheric antique painting, dating from ca 1860-1880, depicting a woman gathering mussels on a beach. French in origin and indistinctly signed, it was presumably painted by an artist active in Brittany or Normandy.

An oil on paper that was laid down on board, the painting measures 30 x 20 cm. It is presented in its original frame which has a fair amount of visible repair, but is nonetheless attractive. The overall framed size is 42 x 33cm.
