An oil on board, it clearly painted in plein air on the spot that is depicted: a cliff in Brittany.

It is almost certain, however, that the cliffs are near Pont L'Abbé, as the two figures on the path are wearing traditional "Bigouden" costumes, identifiable by the flowing white scarves of the headdress. For reference, I have attached a photo of what this dress would have looked like from closer up.
There is little information on the artist, André Bourgeois. He is however mentioned in the context of an important exhibition in 1905: that of the "Intimist Painters" which was held at Henry Graves Galleries both in Paris, and in London. Henry Graves & Co Ltd were publishers, print sellers and art dealers on Sloane Street in London.
The "Intimist Painters" were a group of twenty that included Pierre Bonnard, Pierre Laprade, Henri Matisse, Edouard Vuillard - and our André Bourgeois!
The painting presented here, and oil on board, measures 27 x 35 cm. It is signed and dated at the lower right. The overall size including the frame is 35 x 43 cm.
