Fine Large Cottage Scene Watercolour by William Frederick Measom

A superb large watercolour depicting cottage scene by highly regarded artist William Frederick Measom. The painting is an detailed scene of a row of thatched cottages and a pair of figures chatting at a garden gate. The painting is in excellent condition with fine bright colours, it is signed to the lower right ‘W.F.Measom’. The painting has an elaborate mount and is framed in a vintage fine quality gilt frame.

William Frederick Measom was born in the USA and painted in London, he exhibited fourteen times at the Royal Academy and ten times at the Royal Institute of painters in watercolours, amongst others between 1898-1934. The painting is an fine example of the artist’s work with a large size that gives a great decorative impact. C.1900.
