Rams Head Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The etching is hand coloured and numbered 35 out of a limited edition of only 100. It is well signed by the artist to the mount in pencil as well as in watercolour, with monogram and Chinese script to the work. Elyse Ashe Lord is well known for these delicate drypoint etchings and her work is much collected. This is in excellent condition and beautifully presented in an attractive amber coloured, hand decorated chinoiserie frame. It is a good example of an Ashe Lord etching with a good subject matter and lovely colour palette. The picture measures 43 cms by 46 cms including the frame. The picture itself is 25 cms by 26 cms.
