To the foreground cattle in a field observed by a lone figure on a bridge over a stream, with further back right another bridge with cottages, to the left trees and houses with a church to the centre, the spire piercing a clouded sky. Signed lower right ‘Nicholls 1945’. Canvas size 12” by 20” (30cm by 51cm)

In a narrow whitewashed slip within a dull gilded moulded wood and gesso frame.
