This is a superb quality painting with exquisite detail depicting the Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The painting has extremely fine workmanship and crisp detail throughout and is embellished with semi precious stones. The figures are depicted on a fabulous carpet seated in a magnificent pair of thrones with deer and beasts around and lion cubs supporting the base. The Taj Mahal is depicted outside behind the couple, this was constructed after the death of Mumtaz as a tribute to the love Shah had for her so is included in the painting as part of the whole story. The artist has signed his fine work in the body of the painting, in the wall panel behind the Shah’s seat. This is a superb work of art of the highest level and is attractively mounted and framed. The frame measures by 34 cms by 29 cms.
