Description

An utterly charming watercolour depicting an ice cream van - with its donkey, proprietor and clients - in London, 1915.

With loving attention to detail and great freshness, this is an enchanting piece, which came to me from a rather grand Versailles estate.

Signed, situated London and dated 1915 at the lower left, I have not been able to decipher the somewhat stylised signature of the - clearly professional and highly skilled - artist.

Size visible through the mat: 24.5 x 33 cm, overall framed size 36 x 46 cm
