A fine oil on canvas painted after the famous ‘Cavalier’s pets’ by Sir Edwin Landseer. The painting was so famous in the Victorian period that many artist’s copied it and this is a particularly good and large example. The painting is signed and dated 1895 and T Gladders, it is also titled and ascribed as a copy of the original on the reverse. The painting is in excellent condition having been professionally cleaned and a couple of very small holes repaired.
