This oil on copper depicts a young Christ. The figure is seated in a landsdape and holding a cross. It was painted during the 17th century by an arist who was following the work of Orazio Samacchini who was an Italian painter of the late-Renaissance and Mannerist style. He participated in the decoration of the Vatican Belvedere and of the Sala Regia of Pius IV.

Held in its original carved and gesso gilded frame with cherub’s head. The frame itself is a fine work.
