A fine oil on panel depicting Sleeping Beauty having pricked her finger on the spinning wheel and fallen to sleep. The painting is painted in a historical style and would date to the nineteenth century. The quality of the work is superb and the detail wonderfully observed. There is not a signature and this might be as the painting was done as an illustration for publication. The painting is mounted in a period gilt frame which has some very minor repair and is in good condition. The whole is ready to hang and a beautiful genre painting.
