These four 19th century Chinese paintings are in lovely bold colours painted in gouache on pith paper and mounted on an ivory coloured textured background. The set are very well detailed with figures in traditional costume, some wearing rank badges standing upon decorative carpets. These are in really good condition bearing in mind their age, circa 1850, with one or two minor breaks to the pith. They are framed in later tasteful ebonised and gilded frames that really suit the works. The frames measure 20.5 cms by 15.5 cms
