John Leigh-Pemberton, born in 1911, was brother of the Governor of the Bank of England and was both a fine artist and illustrator. Educated at Eton and a Flying Instructor in the Second World War, he designed the interiors of a number of ocean-going liners and illustrated the famous "Shell Guide" series.
