A charming oil on board landscape painting in the impressionist manner. The painting shows a farmer ploughing the fields just outside the village of Bottesford in Leicestershire. The quality of the work is very good, confidently painted with a thick bold use of paint. There is some interesting provenance on the back assigning the work ''Slade Ashmolean exhibition'' and the artists full name. I have been unable to identify the artist and this may well have been a student work. The painting has been mounted in a fine quality modern antiqued frame and the whole is in excellent condition and ready to hang.
