Georgian Pen and Ink Drawing of the Messenger Steamer Ship

Description

This is a charming Georgian miniature hand worked in pen and ink of the Messenger steamer ship in attendance on the Emerald yacht. The work is signed by W.M Kelly and dated January 1st 1834.

The original work on paper is mounted in a rosewood frame with inner gilt slip which has a good rich colour and good patina. The frame has had an historic and sympathetic veneer repair to the rosewood, bottom left (photographed) which is just part of the character and charm of the piece.

The frame measures 18 cms by 15 cms.
