Description

An 18th century half-length portrait of a central European lady wearing a beautifully embroidered lace shawl, white cap, and a choker with a silver clasp. Signed on the back ‘A Bromberger’. Provenance, Germany.

Medium: Oil on canvas

Size including frame: 24” x 19½” / 62cm x 49.5cm

Year of creation: c. 1725 - c. 1780

Condition: A few minor paint losses to the canvas and some craquelure. Frame with a few losses and historic worm but no sign of anything active during its time here.
