Description

A fine half-length portrait of Anton Bürsgens (1851-1931) by listed German artist Professor Franz Ludwig Kiederich (1873-1950).

Kiederich was a teacher and professor at the Düsseldorf Art Academy where he worked between 1911 and 1938. In this portrait, he’s depicted wealthy landowner, Anton Bürsgens, whose family owned Güsten Castle near Cologne.

The painting is housed within a beautiful, and near flawless, swept giltwood frame.
